While You Were Out Wordless Wednesday

Previously on Cascadian Nomads: Bethany and Jason went to the UK without the pets for a wedding. Yeah. It was almost as awful as it sounds. But there were plenty of dogs in Manchester, on an English road trip andin Wales. There were also some lovely cats in London, real and otherwise. And an adorable dachshund.
Triton cockatoo with toys.
Leo had to stay in his cage during the UK trip so it was fully stocked with new toys and foraging games.
Five dog walk left to right; Austrailian Terrier, Norfolk Terriers, Cardigan Welsh Corgi and Miniature Dachshund.
Wilhelm and Brychwyn stayed at home with Leo and Amelia and their three terrier house guests (L-R) Butch, Scout and Gabbi.

Huxley went to stay with Bethany's mom during the UK trip. She has a huge yard to run in.

Bethany's mom's dogs, Lucie and Morgan, were fun play partners for Huxley.

When the humans returned, it was time to reunite the Cascadian Nomads! The four pets who had stayed home with the pet sitter and the terriers, loaded up to go pick up Huxley.

It's always nice when one or two of us go somewhere different, but getting home and getting the pack back together is wonderful. Even the cats do miss us dogs.

I bet everyone was happy to be back together again! Its always hard leaving your pets behind, but it does make it easier when you have trustworthy people to watch them knowing they are in good hands.

They all looked so happy to be reunited. It's so hard to go on vacation and leave our furry (and feathery) friends behind. All the more so for you with such a variety to care for. I have to confess to having trust issues even with family members caring for my dogs. I'm a worrier by nature so I guess that's the problem.

Me too Taryn! I have almost 100% faith in the person who pet sat at our house but she is a professional. She doesn't usually do in home care; we just lucked out. But I was very nervous about leaving Huxley with my my mom for a lot of reasons. Plus the whole trip was terrifying because if something went wrong with either arrangement, Jason and I were so far away and it would take almost 24 hours to get back. Now that I am typing this, I kind of can't believe we actually went!

We book our non-dog vacations partially around the schedules of Mr. N's "sitters." I think he would go on a hunger strike or do something dire if we boarded him at a kennel.

It looks like they all did great while you were gone. And that they were just fine when you got home. Mom always ruins her vacation worrying about the pets back home! Love Dolly
