Typist: Bethany Yesterday was such a beautiful spring day, I just had to get the dogs out for a long walk. We strolled to the Alaska Junction in West Seattle, enjoying the spring colors and chatting with gardening neighbors along the way. 'R' Blood on the Tracks boys are always a hit in the busy business center. It's a great chance for Brychwyn to show off his much improved leash reactivity, for Huxley to continue his efforts to not jump and for Wilhelm to be, well, Wilhelm and the star of the show. is a really well behaved dachshund" I am so proud of Wilhelm but also sad for whatever poor yappy, snappy or fat doxie(s) they might have met before.) There are plenty of Alaska Junction businesses where the dogs can be tied outside and safely seen the whole time I am inside. Yesterday I got a mocha at Bakery Nouveau. The sunny, blossoming cherry lined streets of California Ave in The Junction were so pleasant, that we continued North along the busy road until we met with Hinds street. There is a back entrance to Schmitz Preserve Park at SW Hinds and 49th Ave SW (for foot traffic only- there's no parking lot here.) The preserve was beautiful! The birds were very busy, the air smelled springtime fresh with just a tinge of blooming skunk cabbage. There were dark pink blossoms of salmon berries everywhere we turned. The dogs had great fun sniffing all of the fresh coyote and raccoon trails. (Yes, there are lot's of not dog-friendly |
Today, it's raining and I do have to get back to trip planning. But I am so glad I procrastinated yesterday and, of course, the dogs are too! How about you? Have you ever been really glad you procrastinated? What sorts of great adventures have you had while procrastinating?
