Together Is Our Favorite Place To Be {52 Snapshots of Life Week 32}

Out and about with the "together is my favorite place to be" plaque that has hung on the master bedroom door of the Cascadian Nomads home for many years.
Typist: Bethany
Among the frequently asked questions I field when traveling with the pets is some version of"why bring them along as opposed to leaving them home?" My answer is that all three dogs, the cat and the cockatoo all seem to appreciate new experiences, meeting a variety of people and visiting unfamiliar places. Recently my reply was met by a young man exclaming "yeah, but you don't have to bring them all out at once! You could maybe just take two dogs, or one dog and the bird." I couldn't help but chuckle at his logical retort but I also explained that the five pets actually enjoy being together. When I am getting ready to go, for a walk or for a road trip, all five pets gather round, eager to come, together.

I am also frequently asked, usually by children, which pet is my favorite. I explain that I don't really have a favorite but that they each have a special place in my life and in my heart. So for a favorite themed photo post, I considered a visual explanation of the favorte role each of the five pets play in my life. Then the truth of the "together is my favorite place to be" plaque that has doned the door to the master bedroom in our home for many years caught my eye. It's truth was what any Cascadian Nomads favorite post should be about! "together is my favorite place to be" is the answer to any and all questions about why I do what I do with my pets. Togetherness is also Wilhelm, Brychwyn, Huxley, Leo and Amelia's favorite past time. Since this realization and our adventure out with the plaque for this photo shoot, I may start toting my plaque everywhere! Together truly is the Cascadian Nomads favorite place to be. And we prove it everywhere we go.

Very good point. Our favorite place to be is together too, but we also enjoy our outings when we are not all together as they are special. The kitties don't go anywhere but the vet with us, and Katie can't go along with us much these days but luckily we have lots of together time at home.

You make a great point too, Emma. Together time isn't special if it is ALL the time. If it weren't for our individual/one-on-one time and time apart, we would take togetherness for granted!

I could tell that your gang loves each other and I think you are an inspiration each time you travel with your family.

I took my cats on a summer vacation abroad - by airplaine. Yes, they didn't like the airplane, but they love being with me. As much as possible. I didn't regret taking them with me to my parents' place, and I'll most likely do it again.

I love the plaque and think it's perfect. I totally agree with the sentiment, and now need to find one of those for our house too!
