The Grass Is Always Greener In Another Fit Dog's Backyard

My backyard is boring. I would definitely rather be out adventuring. Fit dog time on road trips, camping, hiking, agility class, at off-leash parks or playing with dog friends anywhere but my in my own backyard is preferred. So when Bethany told Wilhelm, Brychwyn and I about this summer's K9 Kamp theme of backyard fitness and games I sighed a very large and loud collie sigh. How dull!
The Grass Is Always Greener In Another Fit Dog's Backyard: Collie Huxley is bored with fit dog time in his own yard
Well, it turns out, the backyard fitness and games didn't have to be in my own backyard! So we started K9 Kamp with a visit to the Alaskan Klee Kai's backyard (after our game of disc golf at the park.) The grass in their yard is brand new so it is super lush and cool. I was satisfied with cooling off on he grass between chases but Seneca, Brychwyn and Wilhelm joined Bethany and Micheal under the sprinkler water.
Another backyard we visited for fit dog time was the home of our collie friends, Gypsy, Gilly and Ginger. Their backyard is perfect for so many games! We chased, wrestled, played fetch and tugged. In the middle of all our fit dog time, the humans had some fitness time of their own: Bethany led a garden patio Pilates class. The class hour was a good rest time for all us dogs because after the class, we got right back to our own backyard fitness.
Doga? A pation fitness class with more dogs than humans!

After all of the fun in games we had in other dog's backyards, I realized that my own backyard might not be as boring as I had made it out to be. Wilhelm, Brychwyn and I do have some pretty fun chases, wrestling matches and tugs in our own yard. Brychwyn and Wilhelm even enjoy swimming right behind our house! I am very particular about when I will try out our pool and I'd rather cool off by settling into the shade with a stick to chew on. All in all, I would say I am a very lucky fit dog to have such a variety of fitness activities to do, games to play, friends to play with and so many backyards in which to do it all.

We love playing in our own backyard and we love fitness adventures and classes. In our yard we practice our nose work homework, play chase and wrestle games, chase critters, we have our mini pool. It is all in the variety for us.

That is a fun thing to do visiting other peeps backyards and hanging out. Our yard is so small it is a joke but we have the park at the top of our road which makes up for it. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly

We learned on our trip that UK parks are much better than US parks for dogs so we know you have it GOOD!

Any backyard will do is right! A backyard pilates class sounds great. Love the video of the chase game, but so worried little Wilhelm is going to get trampled, but I guess he's too quick for that! Thanks for joining the Hop.

We don't have a yard but Mr. N usually finds backyards extremely boring after the first ten minutes or so. But he also doesn't have anyone else to play with. I'm sure he'd love your yard due to all the activity.

This is why we are such good friends, Mr. N. If a yard doesn't have other dogs and toys, then once I have sniffed and marked I am bored and it is time to move on!

My guys love to play fetch in their own backyard as well as games of tag. The only issue with tag is they both want to be the one being chased! On occasion, I'll set up Jimmy's agility equipment and play with that, but most of his practice comes in his weekly class.

It makes me laugh that they all want to be the one being chased- it's just like human children and being "it" is lame! I usually end up starting the chase by having everyone chase me to get the games started.

Well your friends' backyards do look and sound pretty fun. But I still think that yall's looks pretty darn fun too! Especially in that last Vine video, which I love by the way. And look at all those collies!

Rita definitely has backyard envy. And the grass is definitely greener, since we have no grass! We usually go to her buddy's house or Reggie's house for rousing games of bitey-face! Great photos and looks like you guys had fun!

When the dogs get super excited about being on grass, I sometimes feel sad that we covered all of ours (and the mud) with cedar chips. But at least they have other grassy yards to play in!

Looks like a fun time! Mauja and Atka love playing chase in our backyard. Especially when there's a pool to hop through!

Hopping through the pool is not for me but Brychwyn and Wilhelm love it. And when they come out- the chase is on!!!

You do have a great backyard! That's an awesome pool. It's fun to have adventures but sometimes it's fun to stay home too. It looked like you had a lot of fun just running around and playing with your friends. We're actually homebodies here and we love our backyard.

I love having a backyard, but admit we prefer playing in a backyard with a pool, especially in the summer! Love the Vine vids and backyard pilates!
