Mischief Memories

Last year, on Memorial Day, the Cascadian Nomads went to visit a loved one at the Tahoma Veterans National Cemetery. It was full of people and flags but dogs had to respectfully stay in the car. Memorial Day is about remembrance of all of the brave veterans who are no longer with us but it is also a nice time to reflect on anyone we have fond memories of. For me, I most often remember my big brother Tynan. Since this is Memorial Day and

Monday Mischief, and no one knew how to make mischief better than Tynan and I, I want to share with you some of my fondest memories of the fun Tynan and I used to have.
Picture
You said "go to a bed" not "got to your bed!"
Picture
See those two dots behind Timberline Lodge? The big one is Tynan & the other one is me.
Picture
I don't remember what we were up to here but there is always so much fun to be had in the snow!
Picture
Tynan always knew how to find the best places to roll and dig.
Picture
Playtime: Jumping face grab. (The blur is me!) Tynan loved when I did this. No. Really. He loved it. Sometimes I would just gently hang off of him and swing. Wee! Good times!
Picture
Playtime: Dachshund necklace. (I'm he blur in this one too!) Everyone thought Tynan was just letting me win but I took him down. I did! Then I'd climb all over him to prove I had won!
Picture
Tynan said we could be on the big, high bed. I said we could go under the covers.
Picture
And we never. ever got in trouble for any of our mischief because, well, just look at our sweet, innocent faces. Yeah. Tynan was the best big brother a dachshund could have and I miss him everyday.

The Cascadian Nomads wish everyone a wonderful Memorial Day. Please feel free to share with us any memories of loved ones, mischievous or not, that you are thinking of today. Fond memories are the very best things those who are no longer with us leave behind. Thanks for hopping by!

Wilhelm, thanks for sharing some of your memories of Tynan. It was fun to read your adventures with him. He sounds like a great big brother and a pretty cool dude!

Mischief memories are the best - and how lucky you are to get that snow to play in sometimes. My person's brother goes skiing at Timberline.

How sweet! I miss my older brother too, Mr. Moe, even though he was less than thrilled when I came to live with him.

I will honor the memory of a couple of dogs I don't think of too often anymore. Growing up, we had two tri-color rough collies, Hershe and Lear. Hershe sadly wasn't with us very long, but Lear lived a good long life. His mischief was running the fence when we called our horses home for evening grain. They would come galloping back to the barn, and he would run like the wind on the outside of the fence, always trying to guide them home. His rather shrill collie bark would speed them on.....
