It's A Dog! It's A Plane! It's Both! The Sky In Jet City {52 Snapshots of Life Week 21}

Time for some blue sky!

Jet City has had plenty of spectacular blue skies this week. Unfortunately I picked the hottest of those days to take Wilhelm, Brychwyn and Huxley to Boeing Field and The Museum of Flight for a dog friendly urban adventure. While wandering the museum grounds and surrounding neighborhood, we stopped often for water and shade. During one of those shady stops I attempted a photo of the dogs with a plane in the sky. Huxley was too fascinated by the landing aircraft to watch the camera and I thought his turning head had spoiled the shots. Instead, I captured a hilarious series of photos that perfectly display the curious personality of a collie (see the slideshow below.) If at any point during my life in Jet City, someone tried such a photograph with me in the foreground, my head would have done exactly the same thing. I have always been fascinated by everything that goes by in the sky. So goes the tale of a Jet City woman and her dogs.

Great idea for sky. Funny, Mom was a flight attendant for 11 years and I have flown twice myself and we never thought of airplanes!

It seemed pretty obvious with all those planes just a few miles from our house but I honestly didn't think of it until the last minute (Wednesday night... so we took the photos yesterday) and only after several other ideas failed. Maybe I am not the Jet City woman I'd like to be! :) Thanks for your comment.

These are some pretty epic shots. I can't imagine how loud it must have been there.

Thanks! It actually isn't loud there at all. The Museum of Flight was very carefully located where it is safe for naked ears to observe the runway. The proof is in the pictures because if the landing jet had been too loud for the dogs, they would have positioned their ears very differently.

Those are all such fun shots! It's funny how Huxley wanted to watch the plane, but the other two weren't interested. Luke is our only dog who will actually watch things fly over head (mostly birds, we don't have many planes flying low over here!).

Bethany, love love your photos! The atmosphere is killer; really good. And after reading your post about them, it got me laughing to see how Huxley was always looking about. Good for him; too much going on in life to stay put. LOL

Whoa! How cool is this?!? TW could’ve watched and photographed a flyover over the Hudosn River on Friday but she “forgot.” #senile
