It's A Car Show, Not A Dog Show

This weekend was all about me! I got to go to a BBQ birthday party at the Alaskan-Klee-Kai's house without my corgi and my collie. That's right! Just me and Bethany. I got petted a lot, which I liked. And carried around some, which I did not like. Those Alaskan-Klee-Kai's sure know how to get into mischief and I always love a good birthday party. The Klee-Kai's and I played chase and practiced many different begging for food techniques. I did end up missing Brychwyn and Huxley because those Klee-Kai's don't like to play bitey-face. I don't get it. Maybe it's a girl thing. Sometimes when I visit the Klee-Kai's house I do some tugging with them or with Michael, but this time the yard was full of human games for the party. Bethany said I was very good because I did not bark at the flying football and shuttlecocks. However, she didn't know I was quiet most of the time because my mouth was full of scavenged picnic food! It was a lovely party.

The very next day I got to go to the car show that happens every year in my neighborhood. Car shows are one of those really weird things humans do. They close a street or two, not allowing cars to drive, so they can walk in the street and look at parked cars. It's like a street fair only there isn't as much dropped food in the street for me to eat. I don't really get the appeal of car shows but some of those old cars smell very interesting. The humans polish them and paint them but I can still smell everywhere those old cars have driven! We dogs are not allowed to lift our legs anywhere near the cars and Bethany says "no nose-prints on the cars!" Despite these crazy rules, car shows are still fun for dogs. Every year at the car show I get lot's and lot's and lot's of attention. Just the petting kind, not the carrying kind. After all, it's a car show, not a dog show. (There were so many dogs there; we actually heard someone say that! It was funny.)

We know, no leg lifting or nose-prints. Geeze.
The car show was over and it started to rain so we had to hurry home. As much as I love to be out and about, I don't like to be out and about when I am wet. It is my understanding I am going to have to get used to it again, though, since summer is almost over. This particular rain shower didn't last long and, believe it or not, I had the energy and was not too wet for a bit more mischief. First, I played chase, bitey face and tug with my corgi and my collie. Then, I cuddled on the couch with Bethany and Jason. What a great weekend!

All of us Cascadian Nomads hope you are ready for fall! How did you spend your last weekend of the summer?

Those Klee-klai's sure are cute! Nice shot with the Camaro too hehe. It was my bday this weekend and I had some nice fun. Went to a softball game, had a tasty margarita and some delicious Mexican food...

Goodness, Klee-Kais have the most beautiful and interesting faces of any dog I've ever seen. Love it.
My dogs would NOT do well at a car show. Well, my male dog at least. He enjoys lifting his leg ON cars during our walks. It might get a little awkward, haha.

Mr. N had a Yorkie play date. The two of them wouldn't stand still long enough for me to take pictures really.
I saw this collar and thought of Wilhelm.

Looks like you guys had fun. I have to admit, though, I would rather look at the dogs than the cars. So would my hubs. (He's the least into cars of any guy I ever met!)

Love the pic where it looks like they are rolling their eyes at you. Geeze! So cute!

The Klee-Kais are a lovely looking bunch. Looks like a fun car show. We have gone from really hot weather to really cold. It is quite a shock, We hope it warms up a bit and we have a nice Fall. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly

The car shows in my area are way too hot for a dog to attend! The pavement would be a scorcher. I bet the car owners don't appreciate getting rained on, what with all the cleaning/polishing/hard work they put into those cars!

It's only fair to have dogs at the car show, since there are always cars at the dog show at CenturyLink Field! In fact, we ended up buying a car (Mini Clubman) after seeing one up close at the dog show. Did you at least get to ride in one? :)

But surely all those car owners would feel honoured if you specially chose their car tyre to pee on....

It looks like you managed to have some fun in spite of the silly rules! You got some great photos. I enjoy going to places where there are lots of people, even when I'm not interested in what they're looking at because it usually means lots of attention from different people.

Well of course there were lots of dogs there! Dogs are cars are a natural combination like bees and honey :)

Maybe next year they should just give in and call it a Car and Dog Show? :)

Wags to all

A dog friendly car show....I love it! I've been to a few car shows, and don't think I've seen many dogs at them. I would enjoy seeing all the different dogs as well as the cars!
