We're joining BlogPaws in celebrating Senior Pets Month with photos taken yesterday of our beloved senior, Gryphon, who had his 19th birthday in May. Please check back tomorrow to see and read more about our resident senior pet. Plus, all month long we'll be posting pictures and stories of all the senior pets we have been lucky enough to share our time with.

I have tried to play with my tail but I understand it requires thumbs to really sound nice.

Happy (very belated) to Gryphon! The family photo shot is great! Gryphon seems to be looking for an escape though... :)

When you get to my age, you celebrate everyday instead of once a year! Thank you. And, yes, that chair is not my favorite but apparently there was some lighting issue on the one I like. *sigh*

Thank you, Ann. I have grayed into a bit less stripey of a tabby mix and my eyes used to be bluer but, hey, they still work!!

When I saw the very first photo, I thought, oooh, grouchy kitty....but when I read that he is 19 I was just amazed at his age. He's not grouchy, he's just got a few wrinkles!

Wrinkles, gray fur, cataracts... which do all make me grouchy.

Gryphon is beautiful! When I took my car into the shop on Monday, I was fortunate to meet the lady of the house, Mama, a cat at least 22 years old. Older pets are precious.

22?! Our new neighbor has a 21-year-old Siamese mix like me. I've always been a bit competitive so... bring on the 20's!!
