Does The Puparazzi Follow You?

During last nights entertaining #CardiComedy Twitter chat it came to my attention that not everyone has total strangers constantly snapping photographs of their dogs:

The "gorgeous creature" The Daily Corgi and many others go "ape-poop... Nuts" over.
I remain creeped out because no one answered my last tweet. Really, though, we can't be the only ones who have a puparazzi. I mean, I know everyone adores the Cascadian Nomads canines but is it that unusual to have strangers snapping photos of them? When Jason and I stopped for a beer yesterday afternoon, Huxley, Brychwyn and Wilhelm were photographed over a dozen times in less than a half an hour. Passers-by stopped and took photos. Patrons left their beers at the bar to go outside and snap pictures. I joked with some of the crowd rushing out of the tap house to see the dogs that I should put a donation can out for photographs. One man took many shots from different angles, waiting patiently as he squatted, for the dogs heads to be turned towards him.

Photo taken and e-mailed to me by a stranger,
Jason guessed that about 75 people snapped photos of him and the dogs at Niagara Falls last summer. Polite people usually ask if they can take a picture. One very nice young man e-mailed me the shot he took. It's one of my favorites! Yes, our trio is handsome. Yes, we are out and about a lot and very visible. Yes, our dogs were wearing all their Seahawks fan gear in an absolutely Super Bowl crazed city. But please, please tell me you all have had a run in with the puparazzi at some point too, right?

It's been a while since we've done the Monday Mischief Blog Hop. It is not because we have been hiding from the puparazzi and it is definitely not because we have been staying out of mischief! Thanks to the hop hosts Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Alfie’s Blog and My Brown Newfies and thanks for hopping by!

People ask to take Mr. N's photo in random places (J Crew, an outdoor cafe, a bookstore etc). I think your pack is conspicious and you have a dog to appeal to almost every dog lover so maybe that's why you attract the hordes.

I think it's because you have three very different and very beautiful dogs--that are well behaved. That plus the fact that people now carry cameras (cell phones) with them all the time and are used to posting everything they see. (Look everyone, I just had fries with my hamburger!)

Here's a question for you. I have three different dogs as well (all mutts) and when people stop to talk with me (which is often), they often feel the need to tell me which one they "like best." I always walk away from those conversations feeling sorry for the other two, even though they don't understand. Does this ever happen to you? People "picking" out their favorite?

Ha! That favorite thing does happen a lot. People will even say "oh, the little one is my favorite- sorry you other two." I can't imagine that the dogs care- as long as when we walk away they know that I love them all equally!

Hardly surprising with such a good looking pack like you. You need to start charging them bones. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly

Hi Y'all!

We aren't "out and about" much. We hike mostly on private property. We live in very, very rural areas...no, can't say I've ever had my picture taken by a stranger.

Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog

I would take your picture if we ran into somewhere, Hawk! I have such a soft spot for CBR's...

Your dogs are such a great looking pack, different sizes, all beautiful. I can see it. And yes, these guys get photographed too. Torrey is always singled out because of the way she looks. She doesn't get photographed as much as she gets fawned over. You win the prize for people taking photos of your dogs though. I would start charging, make some treat money.

Your babies are such beauties. Mine don't leave home much anymore, but when they did, they got a lot of attention. Just not many photo takers. Hmm.

OK, if you must know, I ALMOST replied to the tweet, but it was long after the chat had ended, so I deleted my reply (out of embarrassment for it being so late). Please, I already know I have issues. But anyway, I was going to say that no, no one ever takes my dogs photos in public. KIDDING! In fact, yes, they do: baseball Bark in the Park, dog mall, dog shows, restaurant patios, festivals...(but NEVER more than a handful of people at any of these places). YOUR dogs are all merle/dapple and gorgeous. I'm surprised I haven't seen their mugs in commercials yet. :)

Thanks for hanging with us last night!

Yes! This happens all the time with Moses and Alma. Not so much on our normal neighbourhood walks, but definitely if we're walking downtown, or anywhere touristy in the mountains. I don't really care that much, except when carrying on our business 'ruins' a photo op for some stranger and they grumble about it.

I'm sure the football thing has a lot to do with it if they're wearing their gear. But they are beautiful dogs, and it's so cool that everyone wants to photograph them. They are very distinctive looking too I think. You should just be flattered and not creeped out! We don't take our dogs a lot of public places, because they are not that well behaved, plus we live in a rural area!

I don't know about the puparazzi but I leashed myself in front of the same establishment wearing only a 12th man apron, and two people did stop to take my picture.

Can't blame them! They're so darn adorable!
Lassie had his picture taken by too many people to count. I even had a woman ask me a couple of summers ago if she could take one of me and Lassie together. We were sitting under a tree in a park and Lassie was sitting in my lap and she thought it was the cutest thing. I told her she absolutely could take pictures, but forgot to give her my email address and ask her to email them to me. I'm really bummed I didn't do that.
I also had two teenage girls ask if they could pose with him, so funny! I think they were tourists. They knelt beside him and made a peace sign with their fingers. I wondered if he ended up starring in their FB profile picture. ;)
I often wonder how many pictures were taken of him that I didn't even notice, lol.

You should totally leave a donation cup out there next time, hahaha.

A lot of people ask me if I want to be in the photo and a few have taken photos of themselves with my dogs. I don't get why but the dogs like it!

People often want to pose to have their picture taken with me. I guess it's to show how large I am.

Oh, indeed! The puparrazzi has followed me (well, my dog(s)) since first getting Dylan (CWC) back in 1986! We always joke how the dogs need to wear little vests with answers to the FAQs we get.

Jason wants to get Brychwyn a shirt that says "I'm JUST a corgi" so people stop constantly asking what he is mixed with! I think Brychwyn gets photographed more when wearing cute things, though...

I have been "mobbed" before too. Almost every time I go somewhere people are all over me because I am different, and if I am with Bailie it is even worse. Some people take photos, most just want to pet us and hear all about us. Luckily, Mom usually has my business cards so I can pass those out.

I can't blame all your fans wanting to get a shot of you, you must create quite a buzz when you go out!

Just as well you didn't go to Carmel, it's the most dog friendly place in America, when I go there it's nuts just trying to go from A to B! But lottsa fun! :)

I hope you're having a fun day,

Your pal Snoopy :)
