Black & White Sunday In The Mist

Yesterday we got a couple of misters for our yard and, obviously, we love them. We are on our way to a record breaking July drought here in Seattle so not only does the mist help us stay cool but it is helping our dry, dusty yard out too. As summer wanes on, we get to have more chasing and tugging then lounging in the mist. Have a great Sunday and stay cool!

Wow, it looks like the misters are a great success, makes great photos too :) My guys wouldn't use them. I bought them a paddling pool a few summers ago and they drank out of it, duffers, lol!

Yes, wading pools get used as urinals/water bowls and, disgustingly, in that order so we quit that. Jason suggested using the "mist" setting on the hose earlier this week and they (surprisingly) enjoyed it. So we got the stand on their own ones. Brilliant!

Love these photos! Harkens back to dancing in the rain.
Clearly you kids don't mind at all. :)

Re: your drought, I wonder if the weather we had last year migrated west? That was us for sure last year. This year has been pretty normal except for the really, really late spring.

Looking very cool - great idea with the misters. I love how Brychwyn is always looking so intently at you - those eyes look right into you!

Perfect for the hot summer days! They look so relieved and that mister probably feels so good! Where did you get it? I actually turned the heat on this morning it was so cold. crazy weather patterns.

That's funny because it was cold here this morning too! The misters are Cobra Misters and I picked them up at the local hardware store.

Yes I have heard it's pretty hot over there! My folks are in Eastern Wa, and it has consistently been over 90' for the past week or so.

Great pictures guys :) I really like that first one, it looks pretty cool. I bet the misters feel great! We have sprinklers here down at the nursery. Those feel pretty nice whenever you walk through them.

Ooooh, nice! We don't like sprinklers, but I wonder if a fine mist would be tolerable for us? Do you guys like sprinklers?

The dogs do not like sprinklers or the hose so it was a surprise that they liked the misters. You should try one!

Misters are so wonderful in the heat. I have a niece in Seattle, didn't realize it was so hot there. Have a lovely cool Sunday!

In all honesty, it's not THAT hot here (especially compared to other parts of the country/world) but it has been unusually dry with long stretches of hot days we don't usually get. I don't mind a few over 80 degree days but then I am ready for under 70 and rain!

I keep telling Huxley it's just like the mist in the Scottish Highlands but I don't think he believes me... Maybe if there were some sheep in the mist...
