A Private Concert For Three Music Loving Dogs {52 Snapshots of Life Week 2}

A flutist plays music for corgi, collie and dachshund dogs.
Smiles on the faces of music loving corgi, collie and dachshund dogs at their own private flute concert.
Typist: Bethany
The Cascadian Nomads dogs love music. Maybe it is because all three dogs registered names are a song title. Maybe it is because Jason and I are always playing some variety of music. Maybe it is because I am almost always singing. Maybe Wilhelm, Brychwyn and Huxley love music because music truly does soothe the savage beast. While my dachshund, corgi and collie are very far removed from their ferocious animal ancestors, there is just something so magical about music bringing canines and humans joyfully together. I feel like a storybook princess when I sing, dance or play an instrument and am surrounded by pets. Maybe the dogs understand the happiness music brings me and they just want to be a part of that merriment. I suppose it doesn't really matter what makes my dogs so enjoy hearing a tune because knowing the joy that music brings them, I foster their musical interests whenever possible. We have been to pet friendly music shows and parades. We even have a friend who gives us private flute concerts. She is truly a pet pied piper. I think my music loving dogs would follow her and the beautiful songs of her flute anywhere. What do you think?
Dachshund, corgi and colllie dogs mesmerized by flute music and ready to follow the piper anywhere.
Do your dogs appreciate music? If so, why do you think they enjoy it?

I think my guys would have been "singing" along to that flute!

That is very sweet. No music for us. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly

I try to lick inside my mommy's mouth when she sings. She's not very good at it.

I'm not sure how my guys feel about music, they enjoy it when we get silly and dance around the house though, its a big game. Tucker isn't to sure when I play the guitar though ... LOL!! Could be because I'm still in the "learning" phase. :-)

Wonderful to see a little girl sharing her talent with the three dogs! I wonder why some dogs love music, like yours, while others are oblivious to it (like Toby)? Whatever the reason it's neat that they share it with you.

I love this.

My first two dogs, Agatha and Christie, relaxed to Bach organ music. I listened to a radio program that played Bach organ music every week night at 10 p.m.

As soon as it came on they'd settle down. But if I was listening to something else at 10, they'd stay active and awake. It was amazing.

We love music too! Of course, Mom and Dad are both musicians, so there is always music going on in our house. Delilah likes to sit across Dad's shoulders when he's practicing guitar, and Sampson likes to sit on the edge of the piano when Mom is playing. We are just a music-loving family!
Love the photo of the dogs following the pet pied piper!

We are mainly used to the radio being on. When the nieces and nephews start to play, we usually hide.

They are too cute! That's awesome they enjoy music! Zoe doesn't really like it but it's because she's noise sensitive.

Awwwww, such an attentive and appreciative audience. The only time that I think Harper Lee really notices music is when we have the speakers on outside. Normally, she doesn't want to be outside without us. But when the music is on, she'll stay outside as we go in and out. I think when she hears the music, she knows we'll be back out shortly.

They look so enthralled, she is a pied piper indeed!
My dogs definitely react when I sing, but I'm not sure that they're enjoying it, or trying to get me to stop. LOL

They are such wonderful dogs. You've trained them so well, it's a joy everyday to see them.
They happen to be my favorite breeds and color too!
