Pet Friendly Travel Isn't Always An Excitingly Glamorous Adventure {52 Snapshots of Life Week 11}3/13/2015 Typist: Bethany Over the years I've posted photographs on this blog of a traveling dachshund, corgi, collie, cockatoo and cat in nineteen states and a province. There are photos of our pet friendly travels to First Beach, Long Beach, Lake Tahoe, Lake Erie, Arches National Park and Grand Canyon National Park, to name just a few. Every week we usually take a local trip to a new Seattle neighborhood or somewhere beautiful in Cascadia. Obviously a photo with a travel theme isn't exactly a challenge for the Cascadian Nomads adventurous dogs, cat and parrot. However, pet friendly wanderlust isn't all about waking up in one of the most gorgeous state parks in Wyoming or hiking the Niagara River gorge. It takes planning to make sure the dogs, cat, bird and humans all have a safe and memorable trip. Before a weekend road trip or a three week excursion with the pets, I spend countless hours at the computer checking pet friendly destinations, making camping reservations, printing maps, ordering travel essentials, etc. Admittedly, I thrive on the thrill of getting ready for traveling but I am not sure the pets would agree. I think an appropriate travel themed photo is of how I spend most of my time planning any upcoming journeys. So as not to disappoint, I have also posted a photo from our most recent adventure. Hopefully it is obvious by my smile that as long as I am surrounded by pets and fulfilling my wanderlust, I couldn't be happier. Travel is all about happy, excitingly glamorous or not.
