Awesome #MultiPetMania Moments Made Possible By The Umbilical Belt Hands Free Dog Leash

Anyone who has ever read this blog before (and it is okay if you haven't- welcome!) or has met me while out on a pet adventure knows that I am a huge fan of hands free dog walking. In fact, I would go so far as to call myself a hands free dog leash addict. I never, ever go anywhere without my Umbilical Belt Hands Free Dog Leash. Ever. When I set out to find the best hands free dog leash, I put on The Umbilical Belt and never looked back. And after almost two years of wearing my first Umbilical Belt at least once a day, every day, it was time for a new one. Just like any well used and loved product, even the best made, highest quality hands free dog leash on the market is susceptible to wearing out. My 3" wide Umbilical Belt had never been uncomfortable but I opted for a new 2" wide belt. After a short adjustment period to get used to the thinner belt I love it. I expected to. All of The Umbilical Belt products are the same comfortable, strong, plastic free, high quality dog leashes and hands free belts I fell in love with over two years ago. The Umbilical Belt is made by a dog fitness enthusiasts for dog fitness enthusiasts. What's not to love? This is why I can't imagine a dog friendly hike, walk, snowshoe or other adventure without The Umbilical Belt.
I've got to be hands free with The Umbilcal Belt Hands Free Dog Leash
The Umbilical Belt Hands Free Belt and The Umbilical Belt Reflective Dog Leash.
Besides comfort and convenience, why be hands free? Wait. Seriously? Okay, I'll lay it out:
  • Back support: My lumbar vertebrae were all fractured by a fall in 2011. Nothing I have put around my waist since then has been as comfortable as The Umbilical Belt. I wish it could hold up my pants!
  • Style: Any leash can be attached to The Umbilical Belt. I regularly attach my bungee leashes to my belt, The Umbilical Belt Reflective Leash for night walks and I attach my favorite collar matching leashes or holiday leashes for special occasions.
  • Hands Free: Oh the things free hands can do! Not holding a leash takes getting used to for both the dog and the dog walker but once hands free harmony is acquired the dog walker can hold a drink, push a stroller, swing their arms, click a clicker, clean up poop, carry a cockatoo... that last one may just be me.

The Umbilical Belt Dog Leash 2", M, includes a Reflective Leash.
If preparing to carry a cockatoo on dog walks or just a cup of coffee, The Umbilical Belt hands free leash will not disappoint. Not only would it be impossible for me to walk multiple pets without a hands free waist belt for dog leashes, I would not enjoy our walks or any of our pet friendly adventures nearly as much. After almost a decade of struggling to find a hands free leash belt that would allow me more dog time and less fussing with the belt and leash time, I couldn't be happier to have found The Umbilical Belt. I am proud to be using my second Umbilical Belt and to be able to share how well it works with everyone I see every time I step out the door.

Treat Them As You Would Treat Yourself. Wait. Better | #MultiPetMania Merrick Pet Care Review & Giveaway

Miniature dachchund Wilhelm and Cardigan Welsh corgi Brychwyn Ready for a picnic with the Merrick Dog Treat picnic pack.
Typist: Bethany
When packing for a recent camping trip I made sure I had everything I needed for all five pets before gathering what I needed for myself. This meant I had very little room for anything for myself in our tiny station wagon. After spending over four hours setting up the campsite, I decided that I deserved a treat. But all I had packed for myself were my favorite chocolate covered espresso beans. Delicious, yes, but not a good just before dinner snack. The dogs, however, had toted along a picnic box of dog treats from Merrick Pet Care. Well, if I can't treat myself, I may as well treat them. In all honesty, treating Wilhelm, Brychwyn and Huxley is more fun than treating myself and when I choose quality ingredient dog treats, like those made by Merrick, feeding dog treats is definitely more healthy than munching even the most nutritious of my own human snacks.

Speaking of my own "healthy" snacks, I know what is best for myself and for the dogs but even though I tend to do a better job at choosing the best treats for the dogs how I decide what we snack on shares some commonalities. The source of what the dogs and I snack on matters. Merrick dog treats are made in the USA, the ingredients are sourced in the USA as much as possible and never from China. I have a lot of food sensitivities and allergies so the ingredients of my snacks matter as does what is in the dogs treats. Merrick offers an entire line of gluten-free, grain-free treats- Kitchen Bites, Power Bites, Dental Chews & Jerky Chip Treats- all of which were in the picnic pack that we took camping. What matters most about treating myself and treating the dogs is that what we are having is truly a treat. The definition of treat is "anything that affords particular pleasure or enjoyment." Wilhelm, Brychwyn and Huxley do truly enjoy Merrick treats. And seeing them take pleasure in their treats, is a treat for me too.

Merrick Pet Care doesn't just treat dogs. I brought a few cans of Merrick cat food on our camping trip for Amelia. This is only adventure cat Amelia's second multiple night outing and her first camping trip. On her last trip, Amelia was a little slow to accept meal times on the road but she no trouble enjoying her Merrick meals while camping. It is certainly a treat for me to have a trustworthy brand of pet food and treats for all of the camping pets with fur.

Just minutes after arriving home from our camping trip, my mom dropped off her corgi Morgan to stay with us for a few weeks. That's right. For the duration of Multiple Pet Mania month, we will have four dogs and a total of six awesome pets. We are pet maniacs who are really glad that all of the Merrick picnic pack dog treats weren't devoured on our camping trip. I though a little comfort food might help Morgan settle down after my mom left. And I was right! Thank you Merrick. It is a treat to have been treated both while on the road and at home to the pleasure of feeding Wilhelm, Brychwyn, Huxley, Amelia and Morgan such healthy pet food.

Naturally, Cleaning Is Boring But It's Important To Clean Naturally | PL360 Review & Giveaway #MultiPetMania

Typist: Bethany
Upon coming across any article with yet another new idea on the best way to clean naturally I usually conclude that it is safest for pets to just not clean at all. That conclusion lasts for about ten seconds when a giant wad of dog hair, cat fur, bird feathers and dust suddenly wafts past my face, blocking the view of the safe and natural cleaning article I was reading. Naturally, I have to clean. Keeping the floors, furniture, pet beds, cages, dishes and the pets themselves clean means we all stay happier and healthier. That is unless I cleaned with products containing chemical ingredients. Chemicals in the home are not healthy for dogs, cats and other pets but they can prove especially deadly to birds. I have always been very particular about what kinds of products I clean with, making the task of housecleaning even more excruciatingly time consuming. But the health of my pets, Jason and I is definitely worth both my research and physical labor time.
Naturally, cleaning is boring. Clean naturally. PL360 natural house cleaning and grooming products reiview and giveaway. #MultiPetMania
The truth about natural cleaning products is that sometimes they just don't work. I have tried more brands than I can even remember over the decades that I have been cleaning house naturally. It has been a pleasure to try the line of cleaning products from PL360, Ordor & Stain Remover, Fragrance-Free Cleaning Wipes and Multi Surface Cleaner. The brand also carries an Odor Neutralizing Carpet Powder but our home is completely free of carpet or rugs that can't be thrown in the washing machine. Not only are all the PL360 cleaning products safe for use around (not on) all the pets including extra sensitive Leo but the products actually work. The wipes removed Leo's extra moisture resistant feather dust from surfaces, the stain remover took a few stubborn dog drool stains off of my micro-suede couch and the multi surface spray easily tackled a greasy, cat trampled kitchen counter. The only ingredient in the PL360 products that slightly concerns me is methylchloroisothiazolinone or MIT (used as a PL360 preservative*) but my research showed that this biocide only has proven dangerous when applied directly to and left on the skin, like in cosmetic products or hand sanitizers. No matter how natural a cleaning product is, I would never apply it directly to any of the pets, so I trust that when used as instructed, PL360 products are safe.

Leo wonders what kind of messes he can make to put these PL360 products to the test.
We also received an assortment of PL360 grooming products. With the wide variety of dogs I share my life with, I am impressed with the wide variety of products PL360 offers. I chose three bottles, one for the individual issue each dog has. Wilhelm, who has the infamously typical dachshund skin, got Itch Relief Shampoo. The rough in rough collie means Huxley needs a whole lot of extra conditioning so he got All–In–One Shampoo & Conditioner and Brychwyn, the all-star rolling in poop and everything stinky Cascadian Nomads corgi, got Oatmeal Foaming Shampoo. The products all have a pleasantly light fragrance and, despite the fact that clean dogs do not mean I don not have to clean the house, are a wonderful addition to our natural cleaning routine.
Three dogs with three different grooming needs covered naturally by PL360 products. #MultiPetMania product review.
Three dogs with three different grooming needs covered naturally by PL360 products.
Despite my best efforts to never clean the house, clean dogs, as much traveling as I can afford, aiming to be a full time nomad with no house, I know that as long as I share my life with pets, I will have to clean them and their surroundings. And since I always have and always will share my life with pets, cleaning it is. Cleaning naturally matters but I don't care to waste my time on products that don't work. I am thrilled to have been introduced to the PL360 line. Well, as thrilled as someone who is sitting next to a puddle of dog drool, typing on a keyboard with cat paw prints and just saw a feather float past on the floor can be. I guess I had better go clean...

Matching Collars For Multiple Pets: Three dogs and a cat in K9 Bytes collars
Three sizes of dog collars and a cat collare from K9 Bytes
Typist: Bethany
After an advanced obedience class years ago, another student and I were discussing nervousness for our first ring competition that weekend. When I explained that one difficulty for me was going to be that the dogs cannot have tags attached to their collars, my classmate was shocked that I only had one collar for each dog. My belief that I wasn't a collar collector because I have boy dogs was fallible since the classmate I was talking to was also competing with a male. So I had to confess, I truly wish I had a few cute collars for my dogs. An even deeper secret wish has been to have the dogs and cat wear matching collars. But my next confession is that I am incredibly picky about collar style and quality. In the end, it wasn't fluffy boy dogs keeping me from having cute sets of collars for my dogs but just that I hadn't found the right collars. Fortunately, I discovered K9 Bytes and my (albeit silly) dream of Wilhelm, Brychwyn, Huxley and Amelia wearing matching collars has finally come true. Best of all, K9 Bytes collars are stylish, sturdy and made right here in Cascadia.

Learning about K9 Bytes meant more to my multiple pet lifestyle than fulfilling a wacky dream of the dogs and cat in matching collars. Believe it or not, living with all these pets isn't just about me. Among other items for pets and pet lovers, K9 Bytes also carries dog and cat toys. Sharing my joy in shopping for affordable dog and cat toys on one convenient website is the last part of this review that is about me. The real reviewers were so excited about the K9 Bytes box I could barely get a clear photo. Playtime included tugging, fetching, squeaking and a human enjoying the brightly colored toys on a gray Seattle day. Clearly the dogs approved of their new dog toys. When Amelia tried out her K9 Bytes catnip toys, all the rolling, drooling and batting made it obvious she was pleased with her cat toy three pack. Even Leo found something in the box that a cockatoo could enjoy. K9 Bytes truly knows how to please multiple pets and their people.
