A Dachshund's Comprehensive Guide to Warmth and Comfort

No one knows better than a dachshund how to be warm and comfortable. Here's my guide on heated bliss:
Picture
Sunbathing is the ultimate in glowing contentment. The sun is even better than a lap but laps, beds and blankets play a close second in sizzling coziness.
Picture
Some dogs lay ON blankets. What a waste.
Picture
People beds are always toastier than dog beds
Picture
I love the sun.

Snoring on a lap
I have been a life long connoisseur of the warmth and comfort of large tails

Fluffy corgi bottoms make deliciously warm pillows.

If all else fails, I am capable of providing my own snugness.

Maybe it's being small that makes me need so much more warmth?

I am considering going back to school for a PhD in snuggling, actually. I now have just a Masters in warmth.

Yes, badgers and warmth. That is what a dachshunds nose sniffs our best!

My sister had a mini for many years. It never ceased to amaze me how much heat that little dog seemed to enjoy. What would have roasted a Cardi alive was barely even cozy to her!

I got the idea for this post when I was using my corgis warm fluff as a pillow during an 80 degree evening (pictured above.) He was panting and I was cold!

Your fluffly Corgi bottom pillow doesn't look too impressed!

It was a bit too warm for him to have a snugly dachshund on him during our recent Cascadian heat wave but he endured. My comfort is all that matters to everyone at anytime, obviously.

You are a master of the warm snuggly nap...and you know the only other dog I know that curls up in a blankie like that is my pal Cooper the Doxie...we call him Taco Dog :)

I like "Taco Dog." I get called "Wiener in a Blanket."

Why do humans even bother getting us dog beds anyways?

Nola, you're a genius! Laundry right out of the dryer is a perfect nap spot as well. I can never figure out why I get yelled at for that.

Are you sure she's snuggling of sun shielding and not just more warmth? She sounds like a sneaky warmth expert in training...

He's just too warm. Weirdo. I will never understand how one can have too much warmth!
