Tuesday morning, Bethany and Jason dropped me off at the vet before breakfast. Usually I get lots of treats at the vet but I guess it was too early and all the desk people forgot. Anyways, what seemed like just a short while later, Bethany came to get me. I thought I was finally going to get a walk but we drove home. At least I finally got my breakfast although I don't usually eat breakfast in the dark. Once I had eaten I decided it was time to play. Bethany and Jason seemed very upset by this. Why? Aren't fit dogs supposed to be joyfully active? A short while later, right before dinner (which seemed to be closer to my breakfast than usual) I did feel a bit of soreness in my mouth and figured that maybe Bethany and Jason had been right and I ought to rest. I wanted to rest in my crate on the fluffy new bed I got for Christmas but Bethany and Jason insisted that I sleep in their bed. Anything to make them happy!
The next morning Bethany took me into the backyard as usual but she took me all by myself. Brychwyn and Huxley had to stay inside. That was no fun. I insisted all the dogs get to be together in the yard and, even though Bethany protested, I started a game of chase. Why did Bethany shriek and scoop me up to go inside? At least she fed me breakfast right away. Then Brychwyn, Huxley and I had a short walk. On the walk, Bethany kept fussing over me and checking on me, asking if I wanted to be carried. What kind of fit dog walk was that? Sure it was raining and I had to wear my coat (which I hate) but I didn't need to be babied; I'm a strong fit dog! I admit that I spent the afternoon cuddled up on the couch; my mouth did feel kind of weird. I usually just attribute any strange feelings in my body to hunger but since I couldn't convince Bethany to feed me another meal I just napped. |
