Winter? What winter? Due to a weather pattern called El Niño, we aren't having much of a winter here in Cascadia. Temperatures are warm and it has been dry. The mountains are bare. Disappointed winter sports enthusiasts are grumbling about the lack of snow and a possible drought is on everyone's mind. Tired of constantly tying my coat around my waist during recent walks, I have just stopped taking my coat along. The good news is that when it is warm enough, cockatoo Leo can come for walks and when it is dry, cat Amelia gets to adventure outside on her leash. We also are privy to some spectacular winter sunsets when when El Niño brings us higher than normal temperatures and no precipitation. All of these stunning Seattle sunsets happened in the last week. As long as we get a few more flea and tick killing freezes and enough snow in the mountains to keep us out of serious drought danger, sunsets like in these photographs will help me make it through the rest of this El Niño winter. Of course, a superbly handsome corgi model for sunset photos helps take away any winter blues too.

That last photo with the skyline of the city in the background is awesome! He looks so cute standing there. We are depressed with our winter here...lack of snow, too warm, no fun. Everyone here says it is a Seattle winter with drizzle, fog, etc. Not every winter can be wonderful, but we wish we had at least more snow.

Our Winter has been very similar but that is an extra bonus that Leo can go out. Have a fabulous Friday.

Being not too far south from you, winter has been scarce here too. We are also taking advantage of it by getting out and about hiking in the redwoods and at the beach whenever we can!

I must admit my favorite part of winter with the dogs is when it is over and spring is here - that means adventuring time starts again

Crikey ...... what's my favourite thing about winter???? EVERYTHING!! Winter, where I live is NEVER cold and it's not stifling hot like it is in summer either. It is the best time. Beautiful warm clear days. I like going to the beach with Mum where we walk and walk and most times we have the whole beach all to ourselves. It's great.

Those are great sunset photos - we don't really have winter, so we never miss snow and don't know what it's like.

Beautiful sunset photos, and the one of the Seattle skyline is breathtaking. While snow and ice are rare occurrences for us, we do get wonderful crisp clear days in winter . . . a welcome respite from our hot and humid summers and the perfect time to take longer walks. We try to enjoy every single second outside!

That sky is showing off some awesome shades of "winter blue", too! Beautiful photos...and if you'd like some snow, we got a bunch this past weekend, we can send some your way ;)
